Some of the lessons I have picked this year and others I have learned over the years. I hope they will inspire you as we move towards 2025.
As we come to the end of 2024 and usher in 2025, there are a few lessons that I would like to reflect on, that I wish I knew in my early twenties.
Lesson No #1: Have a BiasTowards Action
If you stay home until all the lights turn green, you will never get started. Recently I was watching a video of 65 year olds and above and they were sharing the things they regretted most. Most of them were saying that they regretted not travelling more, not finding a spouse when they could.
if you have an idea, then explore it. If you wanted to start a business, let 2025 be the year that you actually start that business. Just take action.
Lesson No # 2 Enjoy The Process
Most of the time when we begin a new project or when working towards something, it is possible to postphone the joy of everyday life till we achive tht which we are working on.
However, when you look keenly, achieving a goal could actually leave you with a feeling of emptyness and wondering what next.
To avoid this, it is recommended that you enjoy the whole process of working towards your goals. I would also add that the process is the goal. I once heard someone say that what you become in the process is more important that what you gain at the end of the process. So set yourself to enjoy every part of the process of your becoming.
If you are working towards financial freedom, enjoy the process. If you are building a business, enjoy the process. If you are working on saving money, enjoy the process.
Lesson No # 3: Apply Selective Learning
There is a difference between education and entertainment. When educatin takes place, it leads to behaviour change. Today the biggest challenge we face is not lack of information.
Instead, the challenge is selecting only what one needs to learn and entirely focusing on that and implementing the the knowldge gained.
As the year begins, do an anlysis and ask yourself, what parts of your life do you need to improve on? Once you have identified these areas, spent time learning from the best teachers that you can find. Blcok out everything else and acquire knowlege only on areas that need to be improved in your life.
To explain further, if you are a business owner and your current bottleneck is how to acquire more customers, then only focus on that only and fix that. If the current bottleneck is customer churn rate, then focus on content that will help you reduce the churn rate and fix that.

Lesson No #4: Focus on Building Good Will and Not Just The Money
For a long time, I looked at relationships as transcactional. I asked myself what was I gaining from the relationship. But as a grow older, the more I relaize that we should focus more on relationships and goodwill.
Let me explain further. As a young person, you may not have all the connection that you need to move to the next level in your career. What you want to do is to build so much goodwill with people who sit in senior positions who can mention your name when opportunities arise.
In a society that only focuses on taking before giving, be the person who gives more than they are taking.
It is okay to leave money on the table and leave with a lot of goodwill. In your relationships in 2025, focus on over delivering and building a ton of trust. If you do this, your business will grow naturally.
Lesson No # 6: Unlearn Somethings
We are in a society that priotizes material things more than anything else. One’s worth is measured by how much money they have, what car they drive or what type of house they have. While those things are important, here is the problem. There is a temptation to start comparing your life with other peoples lives.
Next time you want to compare ypour life with your mates, remember you also have mates that have died.
Focus on gratitude.
After you have done what you are supposed to do, then go to sleep with gratitude knowing that you have planted a seed, God will do his part in germinating it.
I am inspired by this verse in 1 Thss 5: 18 “In all things, give thanks.” in 2025, trade your dreams with gratitude.
My hope is that this year becomes the best year you have had so far,
Cheers & Happy New Year 2025
